One of the best in the Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda:
The Minish Cap is an all-new adventure video game, set entirely on the Game Boy
Advance (GBA) platform. The game has been designed by Capcom’s talented
Flagship team who also created the Four Swords Zelda Adventures, Oracles of
Seasons, and Oracle of Ages on the Game Boy. Though it appears to be new, this
game is actually a remix of the gameplay ‘The Four Swords,’ however it provides
a single game experience. Moreover, this adventurous game is perfectly sewn to
exclusively fit on the successful titles in the series across all of Nintendo’s
gaming platforms.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap’s story is very similar
to past Zelda games. The game starts with Link and Princess Zelda as children,
and both heading together to celebrate Hyrule's annual festival. But during the
festival, Vaati, a powerful swordsman, appears and takes away the sacred Picori
Blade while turning Zelda along with other folks into stone statues. The one
and only source to restore the sword as well as princess and to defeat Vaati is
through the legendary Picori, also known as the Minish people, who according to
legends are a magical tiny race and which appear only to kind-hearted children.
This makes Link – the main character – once again the only hope to regain peace
and prosperity of Hyrule. As the game develops, Link encounters with a tiny
creature known as Ezlo, who later joins Link throughout the adventure to become
his hat, and hence the name ‘Minish Cap.’ Ezlo, with his magical power to
shrink Link to Minish size, helps Link to enter the tiny Minish village, apart
from entering holes in the ground and cracked walls. Additionally, Minish cap
gives young Link advice, and enables him to talk with animals. Many of the
items and abilities displayed by Minish hat are unique as well as clever.
Throughout the game, Link also come across a myriad of
interestingly designed tools such as Pocci cane, Roce’s Cap allowing to jump
and even fly, and Gust Jar, which works like a magical vacuum, sucking up evil
items and blowing out fires. Apart from the main quest, the gameplay
enhancement also includes such exciting side quests as kinstones, which is
found spread throughout Hyrule. Kinstones are displayed as miraculous half
piece gold coins, which when Link collect and combine with its other half, open
up more secrets, treasures, solve puzzles, and sometimes even provide new
routes to explore. Above all, the game is noted for its brilliant, Wind Waker
like graphics, featuring well-designed six dungeons and a lot of pastel colors.
The game utilizes a 2D graphics engine and offers lots of detail for a simple
picture. In addition, the presentation of Hyrule in both big and Minish size is
also excellent. The stunning audio system adds to the charm of the game.
With its stunning features and gameplay, The Legend of
Zelda: The Minish Cap is sure to delight people of all ages.
